Tutorial: AdWords Campaign Settings On Google Search Network

Preface

1.This Tutorial deals with Campaign Settings on Google Search Network.

2. Pay Per Click Standards- Module 2A Adwords Setup for Search Network (http://www.xyz-directories.co.uk/jobs/standards/pay_per_click/2a/), dwells briefly with campaign settings. This tutorial aims to provide sufficient information on the campaign settings to help in setting up campaigns on google search network

3. This tutorial does not cover campaign settings for types of network other than google search network.

Campaign Settings

1. Adwords campaign setting page offers various setting options. However for work to be done for xyz-directories.co.uk, a particular set of options are to be selected as specified in this tutorial.

2.In the Campaign name box, put the campaign name according to xyz- directories' standard for campaign names, which show the major campaign settings to be selected. XYZ- directories' standard for campaign names is : Brief name of client- Type of Key word phrase i.e Location Free Phrase or Locational Phrase-Target Area of the campaign by Name- SN (standing for Search Net work only)- DT or MB (Standing for Type of device i.e desk top or mobile). Example : Willassist Mortgage-Location Free Phrase-Target Middlesbrough -sn-dt

3. In the "Type" drop down, select "search net work only" and the option "All Features"

4. For the item "Networks", select Google Search Network with the check box disabled for phrases "Include search partners"

5. Note the item "Devices -Ads will show on all eligible devices by default", & for desk top group of devices, come back for an option that will be available after the campaign is saved. This option will read "Devices All;" with the link "Change mobile bid adjustment ยป ". By clicking on the link & adjusting mobile bid in the table to (-) 100%, you exclude mobile devices

6. For the phrases "Which locations do you want to target (or exclude) in your campaign?" select "United Kingdom" as target for all campaigns with names containing the words "Locational Phrase" (& not "Location Free Phrase"). For all campaigns with names containing the words "Location Free Phrase" (& not"Locational Phrase"), Use the link "Advanced search" with the option " Enter a location to target (For example, a country, city, region or postcode.)".

7. For item "Location options (advanced)", select "People in my targeted location" under "Target" and select "People in, searching for or viewing pages about my excluded location" under "Exclude"'

8. For the item "Bid strategy", under " Basic option", select the button with the phrases "I'll manually set my bids for clicks"

9. The input boxes for "Default bid" and "Budget" shall be filled as per guidelines or instructions issued by xyz-directories.co.uk

10. For item "Delivery method (advanced)" under "Delivery method" select the phrases" Accelerated: Show ads more quickly until budget is reached".

11. For the item "Ad Extensions", check in each of the check boxes for Location, Sitelinks & Call.

12. For the item "Schedule: Start date, end date, ad scheduling ", put actual date as start date, select button "None" for end date & for ad scheduling select " Showing ads all the time".

13. For the item "Ad delivery: Ad rotation, frequency capping", under "Ad rotation" select the button "Rotate evenly: Show ads more evenly for at least 90 days, then optimise".
